We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and help us maintain safe, attractive, and well-functioning apartment homes and community spaces.
Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of apartment or hotel maintenance experience within the last 10 years.
- Proven ability to complete full unit turns independently.
- Must provide own basic hand tools (company provides power tools).
- Strong resident/customer service experience required.
- HVAC certification preferred. CPO certification preferred. Housing not offered
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative services throughout the community. This role ensures that all apartment homes, building systems, and amenities are kept in excellent condition while delivering outstanding customer service to residents.
Primary Responsibilities
- Resident Service: Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests, completing work orders with quality and efficiency.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, lighting, and other building systems.
- Repairs: Perform routine repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, carpentry, appliance repair, and painting.
- Turnover Maintenance: Prepare vacant units for new residents, including cleaning, repairs, painting, and ensuring all systems are in working order.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards; maintain a safe work environment for staff, residents, and vendors.
- Emergency Response: Participate in an on-call rotation to handle after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Grounds & Common Areas: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and curb appeal of the community, including landscaping, lighting, and common areas.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize tasks, manage inventory, and coordinate vendor services when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in multifamily housing, hospitality, or similar industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- EPA Certification (HVAC/Universal) strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
- Must be available for on-call rotation and emergency response.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
