Charlotte Behavioral Health Care (CBHC) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Insurance and Revenue Specialist to join our Finance team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the organization's financial health by ensuring accurate payment posting, accounts receivable management, denial resolution, and reimbursement follow-up for behavioral health services.
The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare billing, insurance reimbursement, payment posting, and accounts receivable processes and enjoy working in a collaborative environment dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families in our community.
Essential Responsibilities

Enter and maintain insurance information required for billing Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and commercial insurance payers.

Accurately post and reconcile insurance and patient payments.

Review and follow up on insurance denials, claim rejections, remittances, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and reimbursement discrepancies.

Assist with accounts receivable management, including monitoring aging balances and unpaid claims.

Support insurance appeal processes and payer correspondence.

Review insurance and financial information for accuracy and completeness.

Answer patient inquiries regarding payment options and process payments as needed.

Identify recurring billing, reimbursement, and payer-related issues and communicate findings to leadership.

Participate in revenue cycle improvement initiatives and special projects.

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two (2) years of experience in healthcare billing, payment posting, accounts receivable, insurance collections, revenue cycle operations, or related financial functions.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred

Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and commercial insurance plans.

Experience in behavioral healthcare, community mental health, or healthcare revenue cycle operations.
