Le Roy Central School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE math teacher for an appointment beginning in September 2026. The position will be for teaching Algebra I and Algebra II among many other opportunities in extracurriculars. We are seeking an individual to join our top-notch math department that is highlighted by our strong annual Regents and AP results. The department also boasts many high-level learning opportunities through Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus.
The Jr.-Sr. High School has 550+ students in grades 7-12, 70+ staff members, and has a proud tradition of academic excellence and maintains high behavioral standards. We have a very diverse and vast course catalog that allows our students to challenge themselves and expand their horizons. Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Minimally have NYS Math 7-12 certification
- Prepare and teach math courses in accordance with NYSED curriculum and standards
- Prepare and instruct literacy rich math courses
- Prepare and instruct academic support for math students
- Stay current in research-based instructional practices and pedagogy, NYS standards, assessment, curriculum, and Response to Intervention practices
- Maintain and enhance collaboration with team members and department members
- Utilize technology to maximize instruction and learning
- Promote social emotional learning and restorative practices
