Thomas Solutions Incorporated is dedicated to providing support to the Special Operations Mission Training Center (SOMTC) and their mission to conducts individual and collective training for the USASOC operating and generating force to prepare Special Operations Forces (SOF) to successfully operate across the full spectrum of operations.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Modeling and Simulation Support Lead .
Education Requirement:
Qualifications Requirement:
- Shall have experience with constructive and virtual computer simulations, video editing, and authoring of modeling/simulation scenarios.
- Knowledge of Army Mission Command and/or Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVCG) Systems. Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or .NET.
- Knowledge of military operational concepts.
- Two years of experience developing scenarios with Virtual Battle Space (VBS) 4.
- Shall be familiar with building three-dimensional terrain databases and entity objects using a variety of software.
- In-depth knowledge in Army Modeling and Simulation concepts.
- In- depth knowledge of the following software: Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Terra Vista Dart or equivalent Terrain Creation/authoring suite.
- Effective leadership and supervisory skills.
- Experience supervising personnel
Experience:
- Two years of experience with virtual and constructive computer simulations, video editing and authoring of specific simulation for scenarios.
- Two years’ supervisory experience of a media/terrain modeling development team focusing on constructive and virtual simulations.
Clearance Requirement:
Modeling and Simulation Support Lead Tasks:
- Direct and manage the overall work efforts of the Simulations Support Branch.
- Develop and maintain three- dimensional terrain database(s) for areas of interests required to support collective training and align with exercise frameworks being maintained by Mision Command Exercise Branch. Each three-dimensional terrain database shall be constructed to support unit Commander’s training objectives.
- Assess virtual and constructive simulations options for SOMTC collective training.
- Design, develop specific terrain and entity models for SOMTC training.
- Ensure the flow of information from constructive simulations to C5ISR networks is realistic and concealed to the training audience.
- Coordinate with the Mission Command Exercise Branch for the implementation of simulations support in SOMTC's training events.
- Integrate geo-specific terrain into gaming environments and link terrain using Distributed Interactive Simulation – High Level Architecture (DIS-HLA) to C5ISR systems.
- Be prepared to manage, maintain, and utilize, Government provided virtual and constructive computer training suites to support SOMTC training events. These suites include but are not limited to the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability Suite, Synthetic Training Environment (STE), and Games for Training (GFT) suite.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
