Heart To Beat is a growing life safety company dedicated to helping organizations protect their people through CPR/AED training, First Aid, Stop the Bleed, and Mental Health First Aid programs. We are expanding into the Philadelphia market and looking for passionate instructors to join our team.
Job Overview
Heart To Beat LLC is seeking a part-time CPR/First Aid Instructor to serve our expanding Philadelphia market. This role primarily covers the greater Philadelphia area, with occasional travel into surrounding parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Instructors report to the Operations Manager and CEO and are responsible for delivering high-quality, lifesaving training to students at client locations throughout the region. Instructors are expected to teach American Heart Association (AHA), American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), and Stop the Bleed courses at various locations contracted by Heart To Beat. Classes are scheduled seven days a week during the day and in the evening. Commitment is required from Instructors at the time that courses are contracted.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Organizes and prepares training equipment and supplies for contracted classes.
- Travels to client training locations using a company-provided vehicle or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
- Meets with client at time of service.
- Assembles classroom to meet required guidelines.
- Instructs various CPR/AED, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed courses in accordance with all required parameters.
- Issues and collects all required paperwork in accordance with Heart To Beat procedures and files accordingly.
- Issues certification cards following all company policies and procedures.
- Disinfects, packages, and transports all training equipment following each class.
- Completes other tasks associated with Heart To Beat policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must currently possess or obtain American Heart Association (AHA), American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), and Stop the Bleed Instructor level certifications within the first 60 days of employment.
- Ability to speak confidently and conduct lifesaving courses as a lead instructor.
- Ability to lift 30 or more pounds independently.
- Must be enthusiastic, responsible, articulate, and well organized.
- Must have flexibility in various work environments and be willing to travel locally within the greater Philadelphia area and surrounding regions.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening background check.
Compensation
Starting at $35 per hour with additional incentive pay for employee referrals and monthly training volume bonuses.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 30 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Hours vary based on client scheduling and may require evening and weekend work.
Travel
Must be willing to travel to client sites throughout the greater Philadelphia area, with occasional travel into surrounding parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Work Authorization
All employees must complete I-9 authorization within the first three days of employment.
