AET is a company specialized in providing translation and education consulting services headquartered in Palmetto Bay, FL. A Technical Translator is sought to perform the following duties:
- Translate Chinese company’s business documents such as financial statements, legal documents, marketing reports, business plan, contracts, purchase order and other business-related documents, taking into account differences with U.S. business cultures, rules and customs and maintaining the main ideas and original meaning, vice versa;
- Proofread and edit English translations of contract, invoices and other business documents by other translators, and make sure all translations are in accordance with the original meaning and business cultures of relevant countries;
- Check translations of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translated documents;
- Conduct simultaneous translations in business conferences, inspection visits, contract negotiations, and M&A negotiations;
- Accompany clients for business negotiations, contract negotiations, inspection visits, presentation and high-class business meeting and provide translation/interpretation services with the sensitivity of different economic backgrounds and business cultures;
- Identify and explain differences and conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, or practices in a transactional document between U.S. company and its foreign business partners;
- Proofread for grammar, tone, clarity and writing style and provide feedback on scientific papers, medical documents, or other highly technical documents;
- Work together with Foreign Credential Evaluator to analyze and translate foreign educational credential documents such as academic transcripts, degrees, professional certificates and resumes into equivalent U.S. credentials;
- Compile terminology and information to be used in translation of education-related documents, including technical, scientific, and legal terms;
- Research background material in related subjects to accurately translate difficult terms or highly technical languages;
- Provide certified translations of marriage certificates, birth and death certificates, and other related documents;
- Translate English promotional materials found in the company website and social media and a series of business brochure, pamphlets, catalogs and promotional materials for the Chinese consumers and the company’s Chinese language website;
- Assist in marketing of foreign credential evaluation services through website content, conference presentation, workshops and other publications;
Required Skills and Qualities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies, Classics or English;
- Familiar with both Chinese and U.S. economies and cultures;
- Familiarity with the educational system and business cultures in China and U.S.;
- Basic speaking and reading in German and French;
- Advanced computer skills, including excel, word and PPT.
