Overnight Caregiver, Assisted Living
Schedule: 2–3 nights per week, 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM

About the Position
We are looking for a dependable caregiver to provide awake overnight coverage 2–3 nights per week from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
Our home provides assisted living care in a small residential setting with only five residents. This is not a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or high-acuity care environment.
Most residents are independent and sleep through the night, and there are no bed-bound residents.
The overnight shift is typically quiet and structured. The primary focus is resident safety, supervision, medication support, and assistance when needed.
This position is a good fit for an experienced caregiver looking for consistent overnight hours in a smaller and less physically demanding care environment.
You must remain awake and available for the entire shift. Sleeping during the shift is not permitted.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an awake, on-site presence throughout the night
- Monitor residents and help maintain their safety
- Provide bathroom assistance when needed
- Provide reassurance and redirection when appropriate
- Administer or assist with medications within CMT responsibilities
- Respond to resident needs during overnight hours
- Maintain a quiet, safe, and orderly environment
- Complete light resident-related tidying and overnight tasks
- Communicate relevant observations or concerns to incoming staff
Qualifications
- Caregiving experience preferred
- Assisted living or home care experience preferred
- Current Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification required
- Current CPR certification required
- Ability to remain awake and attentive throughout a 12-hour overnight shift
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Professional and attentive approach to resident care
- Successful completion of required background screening and physical examination
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Schedule
2–3 overnight shifts per week.
Shift hours are 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
Applicants must have reliable availability for their assigned overnight schedule.
Compensation
$200 per shift.
This position offers a predictable schedule in a small assisted living setting with consistent expectations and a limited resident census.
