Job Summary
Join our dynamic plastic surgery office as a Certified Surgical Technician and become an essential part of delivering exceptional patient care! We are looking for someone 1-2 days per week. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a specialized environment with no weekend or evening shifts, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. You will assist our surgeon during procedures, prepare operating rooms, and ensure the highest standards of safety and infection control are maintained throughout all surgical activities. Your expertise will directly contribute to positive patient outcomes and the smooth operation of our outpatient surgical services.
Some responsibilities of this job would be:
- Assist surgeon and the OR team during a variety of plastic surgery procedures ensuring precision and safety throughout each operation
- Demonstrate proficiency in maintaining a visible, working surgical field, infection control practices, and preparing, draping, and positioning patients for their surgery
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile equipment following aseptic technique protocols
- Support preoperative and postoperative patient care, including discharge planning and patient education to promote recovery and satisfaction
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and calm under pressure
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, surgical instruments, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Skilled in anticipating and passing surgical instruments to the surgeon during surgery
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively for a safe, efficient, and positive work environment
- Detail oriented and the ability to order supplies and keep logs updated
- Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Certified Surgical Technician with OR experience, 1 year preferred, plastic surgery experience is highly desirable
- Certification from an accredited Surgical Technician program
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
