Receptionist – Paws Veterinary Clinic (Delray Beach, FL)

Paws Veterinary Clinic is a modern, Fear Free-certified practice focused on dogs and cats. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable veterinary professional to join our team as a Receptionist.
About the Role:
This is a position designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is eager to grow. You’ll be the welcoming face at the front desk and a vital support by keeping pets calm, clients informed, and the clinic running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Care & Communication
- Greet clients with warmth and professionalism in person, by phone, and via email/text.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records using our EMR system.
- Educate clients on Fear Free practices and products.
- Handle payments and maintain a calm, supportive front office environment.
Patient Support & Safety
- Sanitize and restock the lobby, lobby restroom, drink station, and front desk.
- Maintain species-specific lobby zones to maintain a Fear Free atmosphere for our feline and canine patients.
Team Support
- Help manage patient flow and triage urgent cases.
- Document Fear Free preferences and effective calming strategies.
- Collaborate daily with the medical team to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2+ years in a veterinary or medical setting preferred (but not required).
- Friendly, calm, and professional communication style.
- Must be organized, compassionate, and ready to multitask.
- Fear Free Certification required (clinic-paid if not already completed).
- Must follow all clinic policies, including our no gossip policy.
- Veterinary references required. All references must confirm the candidate is in good standing and eligible for rehire with previous employers.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-Time: 34–40 hours/week
- Schedule: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (clinic open 8 AM–5 PM)
- Pay: $17-20/hour based on experience
