The Door, Kitchen & Bath Measure Technician works independently in the field performing in-home measurement appointments for The Home Depot installation program. This position is responsible for obtaining accurate field measurements and documenting existing site conditions for door installations, kitchen remodels, and bathroom remodeling projects. The accuracy of the information collected directly impacts the design, ordering, and successful installation of each project.
The Measure Technician serves as Gulf Stone Construction's representative during the in-home visit by maintaining a professional appearance, communicating clearly with customers, and ensuring all required information is collected during each appointment.
Responsibilities include performing accurate measurements, documenting existing conditions, taking required photographs, and creating detailed hand-drawn layouts on graph paper. Upon completion of the appointment, the technician is responsible for entering all measurements, notes, and project information into the designated measurement software system and submitting the completed measurement package to the Gulf Stone Construction Office Coordinator for review and processing.
For door projects, the Measure Technician verifies all required opening dimensions, door configuration, handing, jamb depth, threshold conditions, trim, framing, and any existing conditions that may affect manufacturing or installation.
For kitchen and bath remodeling projects, the Measure Technician creates accurate scaled drawings of the room layout, including wall dimensions, window and door locations, ceiling heights, soffits, plumbing and electrical locations, appliance locations, and any structural or site conditions necessary for an accurate design.
The Measure Technician works closely with the Gulf Stone Construction Office Coordinator throughout the measurement process and may communicate directly with Home Depot designers to answer questions, clarify field measurements, verify existing conditions, or provide additional information needed to complete the project design.
This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, time management, and the ability to identify potential installation concerns before products are ordered. Every measurement package must be complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner to ensure efficient project scheduling and customer satisfaction.
The Measure Technician is expected to provide courteous and professional customer service during every appointment while representing both Gulf Stone Construction and The Home Depot with the highest level of professionalism.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
