Position: Senior Accountant

Schedule: Full-time
Compensation: $110,000 – $125,000
Job Summary:
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for an accountant who wants to be the person who figures it out, not just the person who processes it. The Senior Accountant will own escalated rebate resolution and core month-end close, working directly with supplier finance contacts and member-dealer accounting teams. If you're detail-oriented, comfortable owning a problem until it's solved, and energized by improving a process rather than just running it, this role is built for you.
Responsibilities
Rebate Administration & Escalation Resolution
- Own escalated rebate items end to end, researching discrepancies and driving them to documented resolution
- Engage suppliers directly on late, short, or unreconciled payments
- Support member dealers with clear answers on rebate amounts, timing, and allocations
- Reconcile program-level activity against eligible volume and program terms
- Support the annual reconciliation and true-up cycle
- Track and report aging on open items before they become member-facing problems
General Accounting & Month-End Close
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and recurring entries, on schedule
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, AR, AP, and rebate-related accounts
- Process and review day-to-day transactions, including AR, AP, and disbursements
- Support ACH batch preparation, verification, and cash flow tracking
- Assist in preparing internal financial statements and variance explanations
Technology & Process Improvement
- Leverage NetSuite and rebate platforms to automate and streamline recurring work
- Identify control gaps and recommend practical improvements
- Reduce manual effort each cycle by building or improving a process
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience
- 5–7+ years progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close and reconciliations
- NetSuite experience MUST HAVE
- Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and multi-source reconciliation
- Demonstrated experience resolving matters directly with external parties
- Ownership mentality - self-directed, accountable, and proactive
- Confident communicator who can explain accounting outcomes to non-accountants
- A driven, "hungry" mindset - motivated to own the work, not just complete it
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with rebate, chargeback, commission, or incentive programs
- Background in a cooperative, buying group, or distribution environment
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
- Exposure to AI tools in an accounting or finance context
- Experience building reports or automations in NetSuite (saved searches, SuiteAnalytics)
