Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, high-energy Retail Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our liquor and spirits location. You will lead a team, manage inventory, and drive store revenue while creating a welcoming environment for employees and our customers. As the manager, you will ensure full operational compliance with all local, state, and federal liquor laws.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Sales Leadership
- Lead daily sales activities and implement strategies to meet performance goals. Manage daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring store security and readiness. Provide an exceptional, welcoming shopping experience for every guest. Handle essential administrative paperwork, including entering customer rewards memberships and collecting new-hire onboarding documents.
Staff Management & Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor store associates. Create weekly employee schedules to optimize floor coverage. Actively step in to provide floor coverage when team members call out. Deliver initial onboarding and continuous operational training to the team.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Collaborate closely with distributors to evaluate deals, place orders, and maximize profitability. Receive vendor orders and enter inventory into the point of sale (POS) system. Monitor stock levels and perform regular inventory audits. Physically stock, clean, and organize the sales floor, walk-in coolers, and warehouse space.
Compliance & Finance
- Enforce strict adherence to alcohol licensing laws and mandatory age-verification (carding) protocols. Maintain a safe environment by following all health and safety regulations. Manage the point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash registers, and execute secure cash drops.
Job Requirements
- Age: Must be 21 years of age or older to comply with alcohol handling laws. Experience: 1–5 years of retail management or supervisory experience. Prior knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits is highly preferred. Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and navigate a busy retail floor. Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational habits, and proven leadership capabilities.
