Job Overview
The Metal Shear Operator will operate heavy - duty hydraulic shears to safely cut open converter housing, extract precious metal catalysts and manage dust reclamation systems. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, precise material handling, and efficient production output.
Duties
- Operate hydraulic metal shear machines and related processing equipment.
- Cut and process catalytic converters and scrap metal materials according to production requirements.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, skid steers, or other material-handling equipment.
- Daily equipment inspections.
- Maintain accurate production and inventory records.
- Follow OSHA, environmental, and company safety procedures always.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Work with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goal
Experience
- Industrial Machinery Preferred
- Background in scrap metal recycling, auto salvage, or heavy warehouse environments a plus
Skills:
- Basic understanding of machinery operation.
- Ability to identify and address safety hazards.
- Proficiency in following instructions and safety protocols.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Physical Stamina to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
