Job Summary
Village Wines of Glendale is looking to add a Wine Sales Associate for our curated selection of wines. Your enthusiasm for wine, combined with excellent customer service skills, will drive sales and foster loyalty. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail expertise in a lively environment dedicated to quality and community.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting wines that suit their preferences and needs
- Provide engaging product demonstrations and tastings to educate customers about different wines and pairings
- Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer operations
- Maintain well-stocked shelves through regular stocking, merchandising, and inventory management through the Back Office of our Linga POS System.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed, including cashiering and balancing the register at shift end
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone etiquette to answer inquiries and provide information about products or store events
Requirements
- Prior retail sales experience, preferably in a beverage or specialty food environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate customers about wine varieties and store offerings
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash register operations, retail math, and basic math skills for transactions and inventory management
- Experience in product demos, merchandising, and stock replenishment
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional etiquette
- Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities accurately and responsibly
- Familiarity with retail store product knowledge related to wines or beverages is preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
