Job Summary
We are seeking a hands‑on Production Supervisor with a strong machining background to lead a team of operators in a high‑volume machining and robotic cell environment. Must have CNC setup experience. This role is responsible for safety, quality, throughput, and shift performance while supporting operators and resolving technical issues.
Shifts
3rd shift available 9:30 PM - 5:00 AM; 8-9 hour shifts; Occasional weekend coverage needed
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise 4–12 machine operators across machining centers and robotic cells
- Setup CNC machines, change tooling, adjust offsets
- Manage throughput, scrap, downtime, and overall shift performance
- Perform robot recovery beyond simple resets and coordinate with maintenance for complex issues
- Conduct root cause checks on recurring faults and escalate when needed
- Approve first piece inspections and verify operator quality checks
- Ensure accurate shift documentation, reporting, and shift to shift handoff
- Maintain full shift accountability for safety, quality, and production targets
- Manage staffing, scheduling, coaching, and performance feedback
- Handle discipline when necessary while maintaining a positive team environment
- Coordinate daily with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams
- Track and report KPIs including OEE, scrap rate, downtime, and labor efficiency
- Train new employees on safe machine operation, robot interaction boundaries, and standard work
- Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, incident reporting, and corrective actions
Requirements
- CNC Setup Experience including tool changes & offset adjustments
- 3–5 years of machining experience (die‑cast machining preferred)
- Experience supervising or leading operators in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machining centers, robotic cells, deburring, leak testing, and inspection
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and robot faults confidently
- Ability to read production documentation and interpret basic prints
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Self‑motivated and results‑driven
- Proven forklift operation experience and capability to train additional forklift operators
