Part-Time Maintenance Technician – Senior Community (Wickliffe, OH)

About the Position
RLJ Management is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our newly developed senior community in Wickliffe, Ohio. This position will initially be approximately 8 hours per week while the community is growing, with the opportunity to increase to approximately 27 hours per week as occupancy reaches full capacity in the fall.
The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our senior residents and have the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned maintenance service requests in a timely manner.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on apartments and community buildings.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and restore services efficiently.
- Prepare vacant units for new residents, including light painting, carpet repairs, and cleaning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
- Monitor and maintain maintenance supplies and inventory.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Help maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the property, including common areas.
- Perform basic janitorial duties and remove debris and litter from the grounds.
- Remove snow from sidewalks and entryways as needed to ensure resident safety.
- Report any property concerns or safety issues to management.
- Participate in on-call evening and weekend maintenance as required.
- Work closely with property management staff to ensure excellent resident satisfaction.
- Communicate professionally with residents and maintain a positive, can-do attitude.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in apartment communities, facilities, or a related field preferred.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and basic repairs.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and professional demeanor.
- Must have a working vehicle and cell phone.
- Must own basic maintenance tools.
