As a contractor to the Australian Federal and NSW governments, Parklife Metro is leading a transformative metro project connecting St Marys to Bradfield, linking with the new Western Sydney Airport.
The Parklife Metro (PLM) consortium made up of Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild is delivering the Stations, Systems, Trains and Operations & Maintenance (SSTOM) package of works for the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport (SM-WSA) project.
RDWSA will proudly operate and maintain 6 new stations, 12 metro trains, core rail systems, and a state-of-the-art stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills on the Western Sydney Airport metro line for 15 years after the line has become operational.
About the Role:
Reporting to the HSEQ Director, the Rail Safety & Accreditation Manager will lead the development, implementation and ongoing assurance of RDWSA's Rail Safety Management System (RSMS), while managing the accreditation process for RDWSA as both a Rail Infrastructure Manager (RIM) and Rolling Stock Operator (RSO). Key responsibilities include:
Rail Safety Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance-
Lead and manage the accreditation process for RDWSA as a Rail Infrastructure Manager (RIM) and Rolling Stock Operator (RSO).

Develop, implement and maintain the Rail Safety Management System (RSMS) in consultation with system owners and operational stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with Rail Safety National Law, NSW WHS legislation and all applicable regulatory requirements.

Manage all regulatory reporting obligations, including incident notifications, monthly reporting and annual submissions.

Support the Technical Team in obtaining and maintaining TAO Authorisation, DNSP Licensing and other regulatory approvals required during mobilisation and operations.
Safety Assurance & Risk Management

Lead and facilitate rail safety risk assessments, hazard identification, mitigation strategies and assurance activities.

Develop and maintain the Operations and Maintenance Hazard Log and Risk Register.

Support design reviews, testing and commissioning activities through effective hazard management and risk control processes.

Lead the development and implementation of Rail Safety Interface Agreements (RSIAs) with key stakeholders.

Provide expert advice and support to operational leaders on rail safety, risk management and compliance matters.
Audit, Investigation & Continuous Improvement

Lead or participate in investigations, audits, inspections and assurance activities.

Monitor safety performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives across rail safety, quality and workplace health and safety.

Ensure findings, recommendations and corrective actions are effectively implemented and monitored.

Maintain and continuously improve rail safety policies, procedures, rules and work instructions in line with industry best practice and emerging risks.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Work collaboratively with operational, engineering and project teams to embed a positive and proactive safety culture.

Build strong relationships with regulators, delivery partners, contractors and key stakeholders.

Support line managers in developing safe systems of work and effective risk controls.

Provide expert guidance and advice to senior leadership on rail safety strategy, compliance and accreditation matters.
