American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and TNCC certification in a high-volume trauma and stroke center.

Work in a 16-bed ER with 1 trauma bay and 4 fast-track beds
-
High volume of stroke and STEMI patients supported by a 24/7 cath lab
-
Frequent MVC trauma cases along with high psychiatric and geriatric patient populations
-
Also treats pediatric patients
-
Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Full-time contract position for 13 weeks

Active RN license in Texas or compact state
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)

TNCC certification required
-
1 year of experience in emergency nursing preferred

BSN preferred
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
-
Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness

Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
-
Assess learning needs and provide patient and family education
-
Make appropriate care assignments and delegate to other providers as needed

Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient and family needs
-
Temp-to-perm opportunity may be available if department openings exist at contract end

Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate

Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment at any CHRISTUS facility
