Youth Sports Coach

We are hiring Middle School coaches throughout the 2026-2027 school year for the following sports:
- Cross Country
- Flag Football
- Girls Volleyball
Schedule/Information:
- Season Dates: End of August through the first week of November (including tryouts through playoffs)
- Hours: Approximately 4-5 hours a week, after school, three days per week
- Season Length: 60 hours total
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
· Display a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, energy, and commitment.
· Follow BGCV policies and school procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures
· Supervise the care and maintenance of department equipment.
· Ensure the daily cleanliness and safety of the site. Ensure that safety hazards are corrected.
· Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a respectable and professional manner.
· Complete the Boys & Girls Club of America Foundations Training (required annually).
· Attend the mandatory Coach Meeting.
· Conduct tryouts and related tasks according to the established tryout schedule.
· Communicate game schedules, practice times, locations, and any other important information to parents in a timely manner. All communication with parents should remain professional and respectful.
· Conduct practices at approved locations and scheduled times.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
· Must be at least 18 and complete background, fingerprinting, criminal background check, onboarding tasks, etc.
· Ability to implement quality sports programs that engage youth.
· Ability to motivate youth, provide positive re-direction, and manage emotional/behavioral issues.
· Follow BGCV policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
·Responsible for demonstrating strong leadership, sportsmanship, respect, and professionalism. As a youth sports coach, always remember that the game is for the children, and their focus should be on providing a positive experience for every participant.
· Must have reliable transportation and meet dress code requirements.
· Must be able to stoop, bend, climb and walk frequently and lift up to 50 pounds.
