SPEAKEASY BARTENDER & SERVER JOB SUMMARY
Emerson and Oliver is a classic era speakeasy that is modern and timeless. We are looking for experienced bartenders who have a thorough knowledge of craft cocktails and a refined personality. This person must demonstrate being capable of performing calmly in a stressful yet intimate environment. They will have an excellent memory, and be able to demonstrate exceptional customer service. Bartender showmanship skills are also an advantage. All bartenders will have up to date Basset and food handling certificates.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with other servers and event organizers
- Mix craft cocktails and serve non-alcoholic beverages
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drinks
- Assess bar customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Make drink recommendations for drink menu
- Shift set-up and clean up
- Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- May also work in various locations within the building (Cafe bar and event space)
- Will be cross-trained as barista in the event needed to fill in
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Friendly personality
- Available on weekends
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and as an individual
- Must be 21 years old
- Previous experience highly preferred
