General Summary
Coordinates the activities of the physician residency program for various physician specialties (e.g., Surgery, Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, etc.). In collaboration with the Residency Program Director and Service Line Medical Director, coordinates and provides administrative support for the recruitment and selection of physician residents. Supports and coordinates resident education and program documentation. Ensures that residents possess required credentials and certifications. Maintains appropriate documentation required for Residency Program accreditation. Performs a variety of general administrative and secretarial functions such as, answering telephones, scheduling meetings/ appointments, typing/transcription, routing mail, ordering office supplies, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates and provides administrative support for the recruitment and selection of physician residents including, but not limited to, use of the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), scheduling resident interviews and preparing interview agenda, maintaining recruitment statistics and maintaining communications with candidates.
- Supports and coordinates resident education and program documentation including, but not limited to, resident orientation, scheduling, resident evaluations, payroll and other personnel actions, etc..
- Ensures that residents possess required credentials and certifications.
Common Expectations:
- Types memorandums, policies, committee minutes, manuals, letters, forms, procedures, and other general typing as directed, initiating other documents and correspondence as appropriate.
- Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
- Schedules supervisor's appointments; maintains and updates supervisor's daily calendar.
- Sets up and maintains files and records which may contain confidential information.
- Opens and routes incoming mail; distributes correspondence and other material to staff.
- Orders office supplies as necessary.
- Greets and directs visitors.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Associates Degree Required

- 1 year Relevant experience. Required
