Family Support Care, will be implementing the KumZ Dementia Caregiver Relief Program, Butler County Pilot at the Middletown YMCA. As an aide, you will assist people living with dementia with safe supervision and meaningful engagement. The goal of the project is to improve dementia specific respite care through a community-based, person-centered, predictable, and measurable model.
Movement sessions occur twice weekly and last 90-120 minutes. Participate in team meetings and debriefings, and set up and clean up.
Deliver high-quality, person-centered support to individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementia
Activity Facilitation: Assist with exercise activities to foster safe movement and health promotion (For example, yoga, dance, and boxercise)
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of client progress, incidents, and daily activities; communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and family members.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to support safety and implement individualized care plans.
Behavioral and Emotional Support: Implement individualized support plans to address behavioral needs and manage challenging situations using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
Bathroom Support (as needed): Assist clients in using the restroom.
