Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Front Desk Coordinator to join our outpatient Interventional Radiology facility. This position is responsible for providing an exceptional patient experience while supporting daily administrative operations, scheduling, insurance coordination, and procedure preparation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment.
- Answer and manage a multi-line phone system, including patient inquiries, referring offices, hospitals, and vendors.
- Schedule patient consultations, follow-up appointments, imaging studies, and Interventional Radiology procedures.
- Coordinate procedure scheduling with physicians, hospitals, imaging centers, anesthesia teams, and medical device representatives.
- Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, and coverage requirements.
- Obtain prior authorizations for surgical procedures, Interventional Radiology procedures, and imaging orders.
- Review and communicate patient financial responsibilities, including copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding authorizations, benefits, and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records through data entry, document management, and EMR updates.
- Assist with administrative duties, including scheduling coordination, filing, correspondence, and office organization.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical front office, specialty clinic, surgery center, or outpatient healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations required.
- Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, including copays, coinsurance, and deductibles.
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and EMR systems (eClinicalWorks experience a plus).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with physicians, clinical staff, and outside partners.
