Position Summary: Landscape Laborers with driving privileges are responsible for transporting a crew in a company-provided vehicle to various job sites as well as working with the crew preparing the ground, planting trees and shrubs, and placing sod per the site plans and instructions from the Foreman and Project Manager all in a safe manner. We have openings at all locations from Homestead to Palm Bay, Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily inspection of vehicle to ensure all safety requirements are met and vehicle is in good working condition;
- Follow all driving laws and regulations to ensure safe transportation of oneself and the crew;
- Prepare ground for landscape projects, which includes but not limited to removing existing ground, digging holes, shoveling soil, etc., with the use of tools and heavy equipment as needed;
- Plant trees and shrubs according to proper guidelines as to depth; secure with straps and posts when necessary;
- Ensure grounds are cleaned up after each project;
- Maintain all safety standards to ensure one's safety and the team;
- Report any and all accidents, incidents and/or injuries to management the same day of occurrence;
- Sign-off on hours worked each day and/or week;
- Attend weekly safety meetings as scheduled; have a clear understanding of safety rules, standards and guidelines;
- Wear proper PPE and work boots.
Job Requirements, Skills and/or Qualifications:
Current, valid Driver's License with a driving history clear of infractions for at least the past five years
Previous landscaping experience preferred
Knowledge of, training and previous use of heavy equipment while maintaining all safety rules and standards a plus
Ability to comprehend instructions both verbal and written
Good communication skills with managers and co-workers
Bilingual communication in English and Spanish a plus
Provide excellent customer service both internal and external
Ability to visualize and diagnose malfunctions and maintain vehicles or machinery
Capable of physical, manual labor, including but not limited to balancing, carrying, loading and unloading materials; Ability to lift heavy material and equipment;
Is consistently at work and on time;
Takes responsibility for own actions; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
Minimum of 18 years of age
Ability to get along well with others, be a team player

- The individual performs duties outdoors in a natural, agricultural environment; therefore, the working conditions are subject to all types of weather conditions. Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions may occur, therefore, attention to one's surroundings is mandatory.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud with the operation of equipment. Wearing PPE (safety equipment) such as ears and eyes protection and back support is required.
