Construction Manager (Contract)

Summary:
This is a dynamic and highly impactful role centered on leading complex, mission-critical construction projects from the ground up. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in managing large-scale, high-tech construction environments, with a strong command of safety culture, schedule management, and quality assurance. Operating entirely onsite, this professional will serve as the central point of coordination between contractors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with design specifications and operational readiness standards. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to driving accountability, transparency, and excellence at every phase of construction.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead daily site safety walks and contractor check-ins to reinforce safe work practices, review Job Hazard Analyses, and ensure full compliance with environmental health and safety standards
Coordinate with lease providers and internal stakeholders to track progress against key milestones and proactively identify and mitigate risks to Early Access and Ready for Service dates
Maintain continuous field presence to verify installation quality, ensure adherence to design standards and specifications, and validate that work meets commissioning and turnover requirements
Facilitate daily stand-ups and coordination calls to align teams, communicate expectations, and drive accountability across all project participants
Maintain real-time documentation, reporting, and issue tracking to support transparent communication and informed decision-making
Partner with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, commissioning, and operations to ensure readiness for Early Access and a smooth transition to Ready for Service
Coordinate projects by developing detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities
Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders
Recruit, assign, direct, and evaluate staff, and oversee the development and maintenance of team competence
Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects
Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures
Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates
Requirements:
10 or more years of mission-critical construction management experience, including oversight of general contractors and multiple trades with accountability for safety, schedule, and quality performance
10 or more years of demonstrated experience managing and recovering project schedules with a strong track record of meeting key milestones such as Early Access and Ready for Service
10 or more years of hands-on experience ensuring installation quality, supporting commissioning and turnover processes, and maintaining compliance with operational readiness standards
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field required
PMI or PMP certification preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
Excellent problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail and strong interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and lead teams in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing effective construction delivery
Strong understanding of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods
Familiarity with construction management and scheduling tools, with Bluebeam and Primavera P6 experience preferred

Pay Range*: $91 - $103
Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
