S.D. Ireland Companies is a family-owned business with over 50 years of success. We're looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to help maintain one of Vermont's largest construction equipment fleets.
This is a mix of shop and field work, with opportunities to work on everything from excavators and loaders to trucks, crushers, paving equipment, and more. We offer steady, year-round work, modern equipment, competitive pay, and a team that values quality workmanship.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment
- Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, drivetrain, and braking systems
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently
- Complete shop and field service work
- Work independently and as part of a team
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician or Diesel Mechanic
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with CAT equipment is a plus
- Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus)
- Positive attitude and attention to detail
