We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across two food manufacturing and fresh produce processing facilities. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with hands-on technical knowledge to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, maintain regulatory compliance, and support safe and efficient production operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily maintenance operations for production, packaging, warehouse, refrigeration, and facility equipment across both buildings.
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate maintenance technicians and maintenance leads.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and automated systems.
- Oversee PLC troubleshooting, conveyors, packaging machinery, forklifts, compressors, HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, and other industrial equipment.
- Ensure a timely response to equipment breakdowns, emergency repairs, and production-related maintenance needs.
- Analyze equipment failures and downtime trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the installation, modification, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Manage maintenance work orders, repair records, equipment logs, spare-parts inventory, tools, vendors, contractors, and budget controls.
- Partner with Production, FSQA, Warehouse, and Operations teams to support production goals and continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, LOTO, machine-guarding, FDA, SQF, HACCP, GMP, food-safety, and company requirements.
- Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits and maintain the department’s audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5–7 years of maintenance leadership experience in food manufacturing, produce processing, or related industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing maintenance teams in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with automated production equipment, conveyors, packaging machinery, and heavy industrial systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance projects and respond effectively to urgent production needs.
- Experience developing preventive maintenance programs and analyzing equipment reliability and downtime.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, LOTO procedures, GMPs, SQF, HACCP, and food-manufacturing compliance.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively with different departments.
- Must be able to oversee maintenance operations in both buildings.
- Flexibility to support multiple shifts, weekends, and emergency situations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in refrigerated or cold food-production environments.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
- Technical certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, refrigeration, automation, or process control.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required.
- 7+ years in maintenance management.
