Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced male caregiver to provide Live-In Support for a client with Parkinson’s disease in CYPRESS. This dedicated professional will play a vital role in enhancing the client’s quality of life through attentive, personalized care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, dementia and memory care, and medical assistance, ensuring safety, comfort, and independence for the client. Duties
- Provide comprehensive patient observation to monitor health status and respond promptly to changes
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following medical documentation and HIPAA guidelines
- Operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for precise record-keeping
- Support with medical procedures such as catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and CPR if necessary
- Utilize equipment like Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Maintain detailed medical records, document patient progress, and communicate effectively with healthcare providers
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during hospice or dementia care situations, including memory care strategies
Experience
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments working with seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care procedures such as catheter care and vital signs monitoring
- Prior experience caring for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s or dementia is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality of medical records
- Hands-on experience providing long-term care including personal hygiene support, meal prep, cleaning, laundry, and companionship
- Certification in CPR or first aid is preferred; additional training in hospice or hospice care is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a live-in setting while maintaining professionalism and compassion
