AfterCare Worker Job Description:
- Responsible for the monitoring and care of our AfterCare Program students (ages 3-14)
(3:15-6PM Mon-Fri when school is in session)
- Act as a positive role model, effectively de-escalate minor conflicts, and encourage positive social interactions
- Communicate with TKS Staff daily and with parents/guardians on an as-needed basis
- Organize and lead age-appropriate, hands-on activities, including indoor/outdoor games, arts and crafts, and music and monitor students with homework and during snack time
- Remain diligent in supporting and visually monitoring all students
- Willing and able to follow emergency protocols and care for minor injuries
- Part-time: 3:15-6PM Mon-Fri during school days (approx. 12-14 hrs/wk during school year)
- Salary range: $18-20/hour
Qualifications:
- Experience in caring for or educating primary and/or middle school age students
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
- Ability to collaborate with TKS staff, parents/guardians, and a second AfterCare Worker
- Willingness to support the culture and institutional policies and procedures of TKS
- Maintain a level of flexibility, is highly responsible, and has a love of working with children
