Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and efficient guest services that set a positive tone for their visit
- Manage restaurant reservation systems, including Yelp and Toast.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to optimize table management and minimize wait times
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, assisting with reservations, inquiries, or special requests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times
- Support servers and runners by delivering food orders promptly and assisting with guest needs as required
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations during all guest interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar food service role with strong guest relations skills
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Yelp and Toast
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills to manage seating flow and coordinate with team members effectively
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, billing support, or POS transactions
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and hospitality best practices to ensure guest satisfaction and safety
