Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects from initial concept through project completion. Your expertise will help ensure project profitability, manage client expectations, and support our project management team in delivering high-quality results. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
- Utilize estimating software such as Square Takeoff, Contractor Foreman, and other construction management tools to develop detailed project budgets.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs from blueprints and technical drawings to determine precise material quantities and costs.
- Manage bid proposals by analyzing project scope, negotiating with vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring competitive pricing.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and implement cost management strategies throughout the estimating process.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to clarify project details and refine estimates.
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages that include detailed spreadsheets, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation for review.
- Review contracts, manage project schedules, and coordinate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with project timelines and objectives.
- Stay current on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new estimating technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong proficiency with estimating software such as Square Takeoff, Contractor Foreman and construction management platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans.
- Demonstrated ability in cost control, material cost estimating, and estimating construction project budgets.
- Experience negotiating with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
- Familiarity with construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and construction industry best practices.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
