Design Professional – Revit
Part-Time with Opportunity to grow to Full-Time | Austin, Texas (Hybrid)
About MBDS
Mary Bledsoe Design Studio (MBDS) is an award-winning boutique design studio specializing in commercial workplace, hospitality, adaptive reuse, and branded environments. We believe exceptional design comes from thoughtful collaboration, curiosity, and craftsmanship - not layers of bureaucracy.
Our work is highly collaborative, design-driven, and detail-oriented. Every member of our studio plays an important role in shaping both the design and the client experience.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Design Professional with exceptional Revit skills to work directly alongside our Principal, Mary Bledsoe.
You will help translate design ideas into clear, beautifully executed documentation and presentation materials while contributing your own technical knowledge, judgment, and design thinking throughout the process.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys producing outstanding work, values close collaboration, and takes genuine pride in creating drawings that communicate design with clarity and precision.
Initially this is a part-time position (approximately 20–30 hours per week) with flexibility in scheduling. We anticipate this role becoming a long-term part of our studio as we continue to grow.
Responsibilities
Develop commercial interior projects in Revit from Design Development through Construction Documents.
Produce plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, details, schedules, and drawing sets.
Translate hand sketches, markups, and design discussions into accurate Revit documentation.
Build presentation-quality Revit views, diagrams, and drawing graphics.
Coordinate consultant backgrounds and drawing integration.
Incorporate redlines quickly and accurately.
Maintain organized Revit models and drawing standards.
Participate in design discussions and contribute ideas that improve both the project and the documentation.
Help identify opportunities to improve studio standards, workflows, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial interior architecture or interior design.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Excellent understanding of commercial construction methods and detailing.
- Experience producing permit and construction document sets.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Principal.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
The Person We're Looking For
Technical skills matter.
Just as important are the qualities that make someone successful in a collaborative studio.
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes ownership of their work.
- Notices what needs to be done without waiting to be asked.
- Communicates proactively.
- Enjoys solving problems.
- Follows through reliably.
- Takes pride in producing thoughtful, accurate, beautifully organized work.
- Cares about helping the entire team succeed—not just completing assigned tasks.
Why MBDS?
MBDS offers the opportunity to work directly with an experienced design leader in a collaborative studio where your contributions are visible and valued.
You'll have meaningful influence on projects, the opportunity to help shape how we work, and the satisfaction of seeing thoughtful design become built reality.
If you're looking for a role where engagement, craftsmanship, and ownership matter as much as technical ability, we'd love to hear from you.
