Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our friendly team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to provide outstanding patient service while supporting clinical and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering a positive experience for children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional front desk experience
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications efficiently
- Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix Ascend
- Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing treatment rooms and handing instruments
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records within Dentrix Ascend.
- Collect payments, process medical billing, and perform medical collections as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely
Requirements
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred, especially in pediatric settings
- Proficiency with systems such as Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance processes including Medicare and health insurance policies
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via multi-line phone systems and in person
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Demonstrated clerical skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and documentation review
- Familiarity with health information management policies and clinical confidentiality standards
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite and medical administrative support tools
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
