Hybrid Customer Service Representative / Veterinary Assistant
Hadlock Veterinary Clinic – Port Hadlock, WA
Looking for a veterinary position where you get the best of both worlds—working with clients at the front desk while also providing hands-on patient care?
Hadlock Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Hybrid Customer Service Representative / Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position working four 10-hour shifts per week, with approximately two days each week working as a Customer Service Representative and two days working as a Veterinary Assistant.
We’re a busy small animal practice serving dogs and cats from our newly remodeled, state-of-the-art facility—but we’re also the kind of trusted community clinic that steps up when unusual or urgent situations arise. Alongside general practice medicine, we occasionally see unique cases and species that make every day interesting—everything from goose wing amputations and hospitalized owls to guinea pig nail trims, possums with flea problems, and bird beak and feather trims. While we remain firmly rooted in high-quality small animal general practice medicine, we take pride in helping our community whenever we’re able.
Just as important as the medicine is the team you’ll be joining. We have an incredibly skilled and collaborative staff, including four Licensed Veterinary Technicians and four doctors, with many team members having been here for 5–10 years. People stay when the work environment is supportive, respectful, and genuinely enjoyable, and we believe that says a lot about our clinic culture.
About the Role
This hybrid position is a great fit for someone who enjoys both sides of veterinary medicine—the client relationships and coordination that happen at the front desk as well as the hands-on patient care happening throughout the hospital.
On your CSR days, you’ll be one of the first people our clients interact with and an important part of keeping the hospital running smoothly. You’ll greet clients and their pets, answer phones, schedule appointments, manage patient records, process invoices and payments, communicate closely with our medical team, and help ensure clients feel welcomed, informed, and cared for throughout their experience with us.
On your Veterinary Assistant days, you’ll work closely with our doctors and Licensed Veterinary Technicians to support appointments, treatments, surgeries, and medical procedures. You’ll safely restrain patients for exams, blood draws, imaging, and treatments; collect and prepare laboratory samples; prepare exam rooms and treatment areas; monitor hospitalized patients; help maintain accurate medical records; provide client education; and help keep the daily flow of the hospital moving.
While the position is structured around two CSR days and two VA days each week, we’re a team-oriented hospital, so flexibility and a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed is important.
