Summary:
The Security Manager On Duty is responsible for organizing and overseeing the security force of the hotel daily. Manage individual guards for each shift. Oversee the training process for new associates. Provide outstanding guest service by protecting hotel guests, employees, and property while maintaining a safe and secure environment based on Rosen Standards. Responsible for enforcing Rosen policies/regulations and ensuring the observation of applicable laws by surveying the property for potential danger/distractions to the enjoyment of the guests and employees. Listen to negative guest feedback and provide an appropriate response.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the security department, including a team of officers.
- Work with all departments to handle guest complaints. Provide the appropriate level of compensation and communicate discrepancies with the necessary hotel management for correction.
- Respond to emergency matters; obtain detailed information regarding the incident, document this in a daily report, or if necessary, obtain photos, statements, and security footage.
- Provide First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogen services to guests and employees in need of any such services. Training will be provided by Rosen Hotels & Resorts.
- Maintain proficiency in the use of specialized equipment needed to perform tasks as a First Aid response team member. Act as first responders to provide immediate First Aid.
- Maintain certification in CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator. Training provided by Rosen Hotels & Resorts.
- Continuously patrol the hotel property to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and assets. Identify any suspicious person who may disrupt the hotel's orderly operation while limiting liability.
- Maintain a positive work environment for all staff, including those outside of Security.
- Must have a flexible work schedule and be available to support the hotel in the event of a natural disaster.
- Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of security experience is required.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience is required.
- Must be 21+ years old.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Must have the ability to drive a company-assigned golf cart or other company-assigned vehicle.
- Familiarity with security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
- Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
- Associate degree or higher in Hospitality Management or a related field required.
- Must have an updated, valid driver's license.
