Position Overview
Carewell Cremations is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Part-Time Customer Service Driver to join our growing team. This position plays an important role in helping families by safely delivering cremated remains (urns), important documents, and memorial items while providing exceptional customer service during one of life's most difficult times.
The ideal candidate is punctual, organized, trustworthy, and understands the importance of professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport and deliver urns, death certificates, and memorial items to families, cemeteries, churches, hospices, and other authorized locations.
- Verify delivery information and maintain accurate documentation.
- Obtain required signatures and complete delivery records.
- Provide compassionate, courteous, and respectful interactions with families and community partners.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate with office staff regarding delivery status and scheduling.
- Keep company vehicle clean, organized, and presentable.
- Report any vehicle maintenance concerns promptly.
- Assist with light office or operational tasks between deliveries as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum age of 21 years preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and smartphone applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the office.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service or delivery experience.
- Experience working in healthcare, hospice, funeral service, or another compassionate care environment.
- Familiarity with the Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas is a plus.
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Flexible weekday hours with occasional evening or weekend availability as needed.
- Approximately 15–25 hours per week.
