We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer located in Boise, ID for our Northwest Cities & Places team to provide senior technical leadership and oversight as part of a team that provides a wide range of skills for designing and delivering buildings projects for Healthcare , Governments/Public Agency, Advanced Facilities, Transit, and Water market clients.
Your impact:
In this role, you will serve as an expert within your discipline, applying specialized depth of knowledge to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions. You will oversee designer work, lead project teams, and perform quality reviews of design packages while contributing directly to the most challenging aspects of the design process.
While working in this role you’ll be managing multiple projects simultaneously while providing engineering and design and/or oversight of facility power distribution systems, grounding, and lighting systems and associated controls. With our team of Electrical Engineers and Designers you’ll utilize your exceptional design and analysis skills to plan and design electrical systems for buildings and facilities, including retrofit of existing building systems.
Additionally, you will interact directly with clients, owners, and contractors, providing services during construction on-site and supporting Cities & Places market business development and providing proposals to existing and new clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards
Acting as the Engineer of Record and/or Electrical Discipline Lead for electrical design projects including preparing and/or directing design teams in the preparation of complete and coordinated drawings and specifications, and serving as Quality Control reviewer and stamping drawings when required
Managing electrical engineering design project schedule, budget, and delegation of work to CAD and engineering support staff; mentoring and supporting development of junior engineering team members
Designing full low and medium voltage electrical systems, including power, fire detection/alarm/life safety, telecommunications, audio/visual systems, signaling systems, and lighting systems, including associated control systems and photometric analyses
Preparing load analyses for each stage of design
Preparing basis of design reports for projects
Preparing and documenting project energy compliance to applicable energy codes
Selecting and preparing specifications for electrical equipment and fixtures
Coordinating work with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, life safety, etc.) and with architectural and interiors teams, as well as other client consultants
Performing and managing construction contract administration and field investigation tasks including document management and reviewing, coordinating, and responding to RFIs, submittals, and change requests
Maintain confidentiality for clients and projects when required

Here's what you'll need
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Idaho
Healthcare experience
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing; fluency in written and spoken English
15+ years of Electrical Engineering experience and extensive knowledge of electrical building systems, including the following:
Experience working for an MEP firm with experience designing power distribution systems (including medium-voltage distribution systems and emergency power generation), lighting systems and controls, and low voltage systems
Proficient in Revit, SKM and/or eTap Power Tools, AGI32 Lighting Analysis, and Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards, i.e.; 70,70E, 99, 101,110, etc.
Knowledge of FGI Guidelines
Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines
Working knowledge of other building systems (e.g. door finish hardware, IT building communications, lighting controls and BAS networks) as these relate to electrical systems
Ideally you'll also have:
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Project Management experience including proposal development, client invoicing, contracting, and risk management
Industrial, Airport, and Laboratory experience
Lightning protection and security system design experience

123,600.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
193,200.00

The base salary range for this position is $123,600.00 to $193,200.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
