Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs
- Capture and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside support, including handling dental instruments and managing infection control protocols
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials and licenses in good standing
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care
- Skilled in infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration
- Knowledge of medical coding, documentation review, and EMR/EHR management practices
