Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Positional Player Coordinator & Assistant Hitting Coach to join our GRB Iowa Coaching Staff. This vital role combines the responsibilities of coordinating positional player development with providing expert assistance in hitting instruction. The ideal candidate will be passionate about athlete development, possess strong communication skills, and have a background in baseball coaching, and competing at a collegiate level. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with talented athletes, foster team growth, and contribute to their athletic success through engaging coaching.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing position-specific training programs to enhance players’ skills and game understanding defensively.
- Support the baseball director in organizing practice sessions, drills, and game strategies focused on positional play.
- Provide hands-on coaching during practices and games to improve batting techniques, stance, swing mechanics, and overall hitting performance.
- Monitor athlete progress through observation, feedback, and performance tracking; communicate insights to players and coaching staff.
- Lead small group or individual training sessions emphasizing sports-specific skills such as hitting and fielding.
- Promote a positive team environment by encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and disciplined behavior among athletes.
Requirements
- Ability to coach fall and spring/summer teams with past experience coaching teams.
- Proven experience working with children or youth athletes in a coaching or instructional capacity.
- Strong background in sports coaching with specific expertise in baseball defense and hitting techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client and team interaction; ability to provide clear feedback and motivate athletes.
- Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels; familiarity with teaching physical education or sports team experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay structure will be detailed during the interview process. There is a coaching stipend on top of the hourly rate.
