About the Position
LUMA Autism is seeking a warm, nurturing, and experienced Infant Teacher to join our growing team. This position will provide care for infants and young children in a small, supportive childcare setting designed to meet the needs of families within our organization.
The children’s mothers will be working onsite, creating a unique opportunity for collaboration and communication throughout the day. We are looking for someone who is comfortable partnering with parents, working closely with other educators, and contributing to a team-centered environment focused on providing exceptional care.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with infants, understands the importance of responsive caregiving, and can create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where children can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for infants and young children
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Follow age-appropriate schedules for feeding, diapering, rest, and play
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Observe and communicate developmental milestones and daily activities
- Maintain compliance with all state licensing and safety requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an infant classroom or childcare setting required
- Knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate practices
- Ability to maintain a calm, patient, and positive demeanor
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass all required background checks
