Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and intermodal containers on over-the-road (OTR) routes within your region, following FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly in refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers according to hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules and optimize routes for fuel efficiency and time management.
- Transport automobile parts or other freight via truck loading and unloading processes, maintaining cargo integrity throughout transit.
- Comply with hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods or hazardous substances, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed during all phases of transportation.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure trucks meet safety standards; report any issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries by ensuring accurate load & unload procedures and maintaining professional communication with clients.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred.
- Proven experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment such as hazardous materials transport vehicles.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving and logistics cargo handling.
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution on route driving assignments.
- Delivery driver experience with a focus on freight transportation across regional OTR routes preferred.
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and safety standards for dangerous goods or hazardous substances when applicable.
