The assignment is based near Shelbyville, TN and runs from the first week of February until shortly before the school year concludes.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license and credentials to practice in educational settings
- Prior experience in school-based OT strongly preferred
- Knowledge of OT and sensory evaluations and re-evaluations
- Skill in direct therapy as well as consultative support for teachers, families, and student teams
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person occupational therapy to a caseload of 11 students across 4 schools, with flexibility to adapt if student referrals increase
- Conduct initial and re-evaluations for students referred for OT or sensory assessments
- Attend and participate in IEP and support team meetings
- Provide consultation services for 15-20 additional students, collaborating with teachers to address student needs
- Maintain documentation and meet compliance for IEP and evaluation processes
The role is structured for three days per week, seven hours per day, with some flexibility if OT referrals grow during the assignment.
