Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Technician/Laborer in San Marcos, TX. The Technician/Laborer supports daily construction operations by performing manual labor, site preparation, and technical assistance to senior crew members. The ideal candidate is a reliable individual with a strong physical presence and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient job site.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20 to $30 Per Hour BOE
Responsibilities:
- Perform site preparation and cleanup to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Assist skilled technicians and tradespeople with the installation and maintenance of construction components.
- Operate and maintain a variety of basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment to designated work areas.
- Support the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures, scaffolding, or forms.
- Execute digging, trenching, and leveling tasks as directed by the site supervisor.
- Monitor project sites for potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Assist with the documentation of material usage and daily progress reports.
- Maintain and organize tool inventories to ensure availability for the crew.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
- Previous experience in construction, manual labor, or an entry-level technician role.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of common construction tools.
- Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
- Strong reliability and a proven track record of punctual attendance.
- Effective communication skills for working within a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites in the San Marcos area.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to work in various outdoor weather conditions and construction environments.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and handle small components.
- Must be able to regularly carry and climb ladders as needed for the project.
- Ability to see and distinguish safety signals and recognize audible warnings.
- Must be able to work in confined or tight spaces when required by the task.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $20 to $30 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
