About the Position:
The IT Technician is a member of the district-wide Technology Department. This team member will be based out of one of our three schools and is the first line of technical support for teachers, students, and staff. As a part of the district-wide technology team the technician is involved in the installation, configuration, operation, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of computer hardware, networking infrastructure, peripheral equipment, software for both PCs and all associated district hardware. Perform computer and Chromebook repairs. Inspect, repair, assemble, install, and configure computers and related equipment. Troubleshoot, isolate, and correct computer, peripheral, and network problems.

Install new images, software, profiles and establish access rights and security as required.

Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting basic network items– including wiring, conduit, jacks, wall boxes, punch blocks, transceivers, hubs, switches, file servers, and network interface cards.

May remove unused or unwanted equipment at the request of the user.

May remove unused, unwanted, non-licensed or unapproved software from computer systems to ensure a secure computing environment.

Able to communicate effectively with all levels of end-users.

Understand current desktop and mobile operating platforms, computer hardware and associated peripherals, and software applications.

Able to replace internal desktop/laptop parts, and understanding the difference between various components and how they work together (i.e. CPU, RAM, HDD, etc.).

Understand external connections for monitors and projectors (HDMI, DVI, VGA, etc.), and how they relate to one another.

Understand basic networking, including desktop protocols (TCP/IP settings), DNS and DHCP, and wireless, and how they relate to one another.

Able to inspect, assess, troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, software and network connections.

Demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

All other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and/or the Superintendent or designee.
Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or higher preferred.

A+ Certification preferred

Course work or experience working with computers.

Some experience providing helpdesk and/or desktop support.
- Must have worked with and be familiar with computer components, and is comfortable with opening and repairing equipment.
- Experience with Google Admin and ChromeOS

Experience working with Windows desktop operating systems, troubleshooting and supporting, setup, etc.
