Allred Performance Horses is seeking a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Trainer’s Groom. This is not a 9–5 job — it requires dedication, responsibility, and a genuine love for horses. The ideal candidate understands that horse care is a lifestyle, not just a paycheck, and is fully committed to the well-being of the horses and the success of the training program.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily grooming, feeding, and general care of show and training horses Handling young horses (2–3 years old) safely and confidently
Preparing horses for the trainer (tacking, untacking, bathing, blanketing, etc.) Maintaining a clean, organized barn environment (stalls, tack, wash racks, etc.)
Traveling to horse shows (in-state and out-of-state), caring for horses during transport and at events Assisting with turnout, lunging, hand-walking, and other daily routines as directed
Monitoring horse health and promptly reporting any concerns to the trainer Requirements Must be physically capable of lifting, bending, walking, and working outdoors in all weather
Experience with horses required, preferably in a professional barn or show environment Must be dependable — calling off is not an option unless it’s a true emergency
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for shows Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to follow direction
Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team Schedule & Workload
This is not a standard 40-hour position.
Hours vary depending on show schedules, horse care needs, and weather.
