A well-established construction and development firm is looking to hire a Superintendent to support the delivery of large, multi billion dollar, complex construction projects, across new construction, rehabilitation, and preservation work.
Ideal for a driven construction professional who can take ownership of jobsite operations, lead subcontractor coordination, manage schedules, and keep fast-moving projects running safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The Superintendent will play a key role in field execution, working closely with project management, preconstruction, consultants, trade partners, inspectors, and internal field teams to drive project success from planning through closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day field operations across assigned scopes of work
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel
- Maintain strong knowledge of project schedules, milestones, sequencing, and logistics
- Develop and manage short-interval look-ahead schedules
- Track manpower, progress, field productivity, and daily jobsite activity
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, design directives, and field work orders
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with contract documents
- Proactively identify schedule risks, coordination issues, and field constraints
- Support jobsite resource planning, including tools, equipment, and materials
- Assist with layout, control points, field engineering, inspections, and testing coordination
- Maintain accurate daily reports, field records, RFIs, manpower logs, and jobsite documentation
- Support punch list management, closeout, and final project delivery
- Mentor Assistant Superintendents and support the development of junior field staff
Requirements:
- 5–12 years of construction experience, including field supervision responsibilities
- Experience managing field operations on medium to large-scale construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, safety, and quality control
- Ability to coordinate multiple trades across complex or multi-phase projects
- Background in new construction, rehabilitation, preservation, or technically challenging project environments
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent trade/field experience
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Ability to work closely with project teams, consultants, inspectors, union representatives, and trade partners
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera, MS Project, and CM Builder
- OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications required
- RRP certification preferred
