ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled small engine mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline-powered equipment including lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators, pressure washers, and outdoor power tools. You will work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment and deliver high-quality service to residential and commercial customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues on small engines
- Perform tune-ups, oil changes, carburetor cleaning, and spark plug replacements
- Repair or replace belts, blades, filters, starters, and ignition components
- Service two-stroke and four-stroke engines across various brands and models
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety
- Maintain accurate service records and document parts used
- Communicate repair status and cost estimates clearly to customers
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of small engine repair experience
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of carburetor systems and fuel delivery
- Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification from Briggs & Stratton, Honda, or similar
- Experience with zero-turn mowers and riding equipment
- Familiarity with dealer management software
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a bonus
