The Clinical Operations Manager for the Center for Psychiatric Medicine (CPM) provides operational leadership for inpatient psychiatric services, ensuring efficient workflows, high-quality patient care, and strong interdisciplinary coordination. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day various clinical operations, driving performance outcomes, and leading initiatives that improve patient flow, compliance, and overall service delivery.
1. Leads operational oversight of daily census, admissions, discharges, and bed utilization to support efficient patient flow. Identifies and addresses length-of-stay drivers and operational discharge barriers impacting throughput. Leads service line throughput and operational performance meetings and develops escalation pathways to address delays in patient flow.
2. Monitors census trends, patient volume patterns, and operational sustainability metrics. Establishes and enforces standardized operational workflow processes across disciplines to improve service line efficiency and operational consistency.
3. Oversees operational compliance monitoring related to all regulatory standards. Tracks IPF Quality Reporting Program (IPFQR) measures and maintains operational readiness for all regulatory agencies. Conducts operational compliance reviews and leads corrective action planning when deficiencies are identified.
4. Oversees monitoring of service line key performance indicators and operational dashboards to evaluate performance trends. Translates performance data into actionable operational recommendations and presents performance updates to the Senior Director and leadership teams. Ensures the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of regulatory and operational reporting.
5. Partners with discipline leaders across clinical and operational departments to support coordinated service delivery. Facilitates interdisciplinary problem solving to address operational challenges and leads operational improvement initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.
6. Supports operational financial monitoring by reviewing performance drivers of budget variance and assisting leadership with volume projections and operational forecasting.
Master s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related clinical healthcare discipline required, with five years of experience in an inpatient healthcare setting. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, with direct responsibility for clinical workflow management, patient throughput, and interdisciplinary team coordination in an inpatient setting. Experience must include leading performance improvement initiatives, utilizing data to drive decisions, and ensuring regulatory compliance. None required.
