Responsibilities

You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs to buildings and firefighting training props at the South Carolina Fire Academy.

You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs to state vehicles, trailers, lawn equipment, and HVAC units to ensure they are in working condition and ready to use.

You will perform preventative maintenance and make repairs to plumbing fixtures, gas burn units, controls used in water heaters, sheet rock, electronical fixtures, and drains.

You will weld, cut, thread and assemble pipe for water and flammable liquids to ensure training equipment and props are in good working condition and ready to use.

You perform additional maintenance duties such as performing renovations and installing new equipment in buildings and fire training props and providing help and guidance to temporary employees assigned to work on the building and grounds team.
