Job Description
Seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain large CNC machine tools used in the manufacturing of heavy forged components for the power generation, defense, mining, and industrial sectors. The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing precision-machined components while maintaining strict quality standards, safety procedures, and production schedules.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate large CNC horizontal boring mills, vertical turning lathes, machining centers, and other heavy machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and work instructions
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, fixture installation, and workpiece alignment
- Load and unload large forgings using overhead cranes and rigging equipment
- Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, bore gauges, and indicators
- Monitor machine operations and adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and offsets to optimize production
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections to ensure compliance with customer specifications
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and quality
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machine tools and maintain clean work areas
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production departments to achieve production goals

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2–5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating CNC lathes, mills, horizontal boring mills, or vertical turning lathes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement techniques
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other measuring equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing environment
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
